We are sorry to announce that we will not be organising the Montrose and Forfar Triathlons in 2021.  When we cancelled the events earlier this year, we didn’t for one minute think that COIVD-19 would still be having such a huge impact on our lives, we had hoped that it would all be behind us going into 2021.  As the year has progressed though it has become apparent that COVID is going to have an impact on our lives for some time to come.

 

We have not taken the decision to cancel the 2021 events lightly.  However, at the moment there are too many unknowns to allow us to start planning these events.  We believe this will be the case until the start of April, by which time it’s too short notice to pull everything together when we are such a small team, organising the events in our spare time.  The events would not be financially viable to deliver under the current restrictions and we also have huge concerns about securing the services of volunteers – without whom the events simply could not run.

 

We appreciate this will come as a disappointment, please understand this was not an easy decision to come to.  We sincerely hope though that now the vaccination programme has started we will be able to deliver our triathlons again in 2022.
