2019 Forfar Triathlon: Provisional Start List

14 July 2019:  Please find below a link to the provisional start list for the 2019 Forfar Triathlon.  The start list is in an Excel file, with the heats and estimated start times listed along the tabs at the bottom of the page.  Click between the tabs to find your race number and heat number.

I will stress that these start times are estimates based on the swim times provided by participants.  We will try get swimmers in the pool ahead of schedule but this very much depends on how quickly participants swim.   We ask that participants please listen carefully to the heat numbers being called by the volunteers so as not to miss their swim heat.  There is a viewing gallery at Forfar to watch all the action while waiting to get into the pool where you can cheer on your fellow participants.

We are always looking for a few extra marshals so if you know anyone who might be available to don a fluorescent vest their help would be much appreciated.  We need a small army to cover all the posts safely (currently 55 strong) but, believe it or not, a few more bodies would make a big difference.  If friends or family are coming along to support you on the day, we would be very grateful if they could do so while wearing a high vis vest…!  In return for help we will provide lunch courtesy of event sponsors Scotmid and Strathmore Water.  Please contact me if you are available to help – info@ triangus.co.uk.

Registration opens at 9am for the Sprint event and 9.50am for the Novice event.  Upon arrival please come to registration in the theatre to collect the participant registration pack, which you will need to gain access to the transition area.  If you have provided a Triathlon Scotland, England or Wales registration number at sign up you will be asked to show your race license at registration.

All participants must attend the pre-race briefing. This is a condition of participating.  The race briefing will take place at 10.05am for the sprint event and 10.30am for the novice event in the theatre.  Please note this is a change to the advertised time.  Please ensure your kit is set up in transition before the race briefing as there will not be much time after the briefing to do this.

Transition will close to participants at the following times:

Sprint: 10.45am                               Novice: 11.10am

All kit and equipment must be in place before this these times.   Transition will open again when it safe to do so, normally after the last cyclist has returned.  Only participants and event day volunteers will be allowed access to transition.  Entry will only be given to participants who show their race number.  This is to keep you and your belongings safe.

Please refer to the Triathlon Scotland rules for information about what is allowed in transition.  We encourage participants to leave as little as possible in transition.  No boxes are allowed.

We have a team of massage therapists from event sponsors Sattva Wellness who will be providing 15 minute massages in the finish area to anyone who feels they need a post event rub down.  In return for your massage we ask that you make a donation to our charity partner, Tayside Mountain Rescue, who are also providing first aid cover at this year’s event so you know you are in very safe hands!
We have two photographers attending the event this year, Nicola Treger from Wee Birdie Photography and Belinda Holmes from AB21 Photography so remember to give them a smile and a wave as you pass them!!  Both photographers will have images for sale after the event.

Please come prepared for all weather.  The forecast is changing daily so fingers crossed its dry and sunny.

Kind regards,

Maggie
Race Director
