2018 Montrose Triathlon Abbreviated Start List
30 May 2018: Please find below a link to the start list for the 2018 Montrose Triathlon. The start list is in an Excel file, with the heats and estimated start times listed along the tabs at the bottom of the page. Click between the tabs to find your race number and heat number.
I will stress that these start times are estimates based on the swim times you all provided. We normally manage to get you in the pool earlier than the times listed and would hope to do that again this year. Please listen carefully to the heat numbers being called by the volunteers so you do not miss your swim heat. There is a great viewing gallery at Montrose so you can watch all the action while you are waiting to get into the pool and cheer on your fellow participants.
We have had a couple of volunteers call off today so if anyone is available to help marshal I would really appreciate additional help. We need a small army to cover all the posts safely (currently 51 strong) but, believe it or not, we need more bodies! If you have friends or family coming along to support you on the day, we would be very grateful if they could do so while wearing a high vis vest…! In return for help we will provide lunch courtesy of event sponsor Scotmid.
Registration opens at 9am for the Sprint event and 9.50am for the Novice event. Upon arrival please come to registration in the sports hall to collect your registration pack, you will need this to gain access to the transition area. If you have provided a Triathlon Scotland, England or Wales registration number at sign up you will be asked to show your membership card at registration.
All participants must attend the pre-race briefing. This is a condition of participating. The race briefing will take place at 10.15am for the sprint event and 10.40am for the novice event in the sports hall.
Transition will close to participants at the following times:
Sprint: 10.45am Novice: 11.30am
All kit and equipment must be in place before this these times. Transition will open again when it safe to do so. Only participants and event day volunteers will be allowed access to transition. Entry will only be given to participants who show their race number. This is to keep you and your belongings safe.
We have two massage therapists who will be providing 15 minute massages in the finish area to anyone who feels they need a post event rub down. In return for your massage we ask that you make a donation to our charity partner, Tayside Mountain Rescue, who are also providing first aid cover at this years event.
We have two photographers attending the event this year, John Dempsey from Montrose Images and Belinda Holmes from AB21 Photography so remember to give them a smile and a wave as you pass them!! Both photographers will have images for sale after the event.
Please come prepared for all weather on Sunday. The forecast is changing daily so fingers crossed its dry and sunny.
I think that is everything from my list so I won’t bore you all any longer. I hope your final race preparations go well over the next few days and we will see you all on Sunday morning.
Kind regards,
Maggie
Race Director
