Specsavers Montrose Get Behind Montrose Triathlon
16 May 15: Specsavers Montrose are supporting the upcoming Montrose Triathlon for a second year, Tri Angus are delighted to announce. The local business is this year providing water bottles for all the participants taking part in the event on Sunday, 31 May 2015.
This is the second year Specsavers have sponsored the Montrose Triathlon; in 2014 providing high visibility vests for all the event volunteers to help keep them safe while they were working at the event.
Tri Angus Limited director, Maggie Lawrie commented “I am delighted that Specsavers are sponsoring the event for a second year. Their continued support is essential and the high visibility vests and water bottles they have provided to date really add value to our event.
“This year’s event sold out within four and a half weeks of opening entries and this is a credit to the support we got last year both from local businesses and also the volunteers who came from all over Angus. They made the event last year and as a result the participants have shown they wanted to come back”.
Bridgeen Johnston, Director Optometrist at Specsavers Montrose commented “We are very pleased to be able to support the triathlon again. Events like this put Montrose on the map. We hope that the water bottles will help the participants stay hydrated while they continue to swim, bike and run and we are delighted that the high visibility vest will be used again to keep the event volunteers safe.”
Maggie continued “I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that Montrose Basin are again providing prizes for the event in the form of family passes. I’m delighted that they are supporting us and that we can help showcase what a fantastic facility it is. We will have Radio North Angus down at Montrose Sports Centre on the day providing music for all the participants and spectators in the finish area so it’s shaping up to be a great day.”
“We are still looking for event volunteers so if you would like more information about the event or would like to get involved on the day please visit www.triangus.co.uk”.
